Recover Lost Photos from Nikon D300 memory card

Nikon D300, one of the Nikon's exclusive digital cameras, is built with 12.3 mega pixel camera that allows you to capture photos with amazing picture quality. The D300 supports Compact Flash card type 1 and 2 to store the captured pictures and videos. These memory cards have different storage capacity, starting from 20 MB to 32 GB. Corruption or damage in CF memory cards can occur due to various reasons, including interrupted read/write operation, virus infection, accidental drop down of the camera, and more. In such situations, you receive an error message on LCD screen of D300, which makes all the stored in the CF card inaccessible. In such cases, the data stored in the CF card can be accessed by restoring the files from an updated backup. But, with percentage of creating backup is very less, the data needs to be recovered by using an advanced Card Recovery Software.

Picture a scenario, where the below error message pops up after a read/write operation is interrupted:

"The card is not formatted. Format the card."

After the above error message pops up, the multimedia files saved in the CF card becomes inaccessible.

Cause:

The reasons for the occurrence of interrupted read/write operation could be:
  • Battery empty while capturing pictures or recording video.
  • Taking out the memory card while the camera is saving a video on a memory card.

Resolution:

Formatting the memory card in the camera is an effective solution to the above error message. The process installs a new file system and deletes all the previously stored files of the CF memory card. The process is useful only when the deleted is not of any use. However, if the deleted files are of great importance, then you will need to use an advanced third-party Card Recovery Software.

These recovery tools perform Digital Photo Recovery by incorporating advanced scanning algorithms. Such tools instantly recover all erased, formatted, and deleted photos. Memory card corrupted in Canon EOS 7D Camera

Card RecoveryEmbedded with brand new features, Canon EOS 7D digital camera is a delight for all the photographers. The camera with 18 mega pixel captures tremendous images and videos and stores them on the CF (Compact Flash) memory card. These cards, although considered to be safe media of storage, can be corrupted due to numerous reasons. Corruption of these cards primarily results in inaccessibility of all the images and videos stored in the cards. In such cases, these multimedia files can be easily accessed from a valid backup, usually created on a computer system. However, if a photographer has not created any backup or backup is incomplete, then the photographer needs to use an advanced third-party Card Recovery Software.

Consider a practical scenario, where any of the below error messages are displayed on the LCD monitor of the Canon EOS 7D camera:

“The card cannot be used”
Or
“Card cannot be accessed. Reinsert/change card or format card with camera.”

After the above error message appear on the LCD screen, the data stored on the CF memory card becomes inaccessible. Furthermore, these error message do not allow you to click any new images or videos.

Cause:

The root cause for any of the above error messages is corruption of CF memory card. Few major reasons for corruption are improper handling of camera, interrupted read/write operation, and virus infection.

Resolution:

The only possible way to resolve the above problem, in case of backup unavailability, you will need to format the memory card with camera (as suggested in error message). But, once the card is formatted, the data saved on it gets erased. The formatted images, videos, or any other multimedia files can be only recovered by using an advanced Card Recovery application. The Card Recovery utility allows recovery in three simple steps, download the software from Internet, connect card to your system, and run the application. With easy to understand documentation, the photographer can easily perform the recovery process. The software is completely non-destructive as it does not makes any changes in the original data stored on the memory card.

Stellar Phoenix Photo Recovery is an effective Card Recovery that ensures complete recovery of data from almost all formatted memory cards, including CF, SD, and SDHC. Compatible with almost all file types, the software is designed for Windows and Mac OS X. The software can recover data from other storage media as well.

Accessing SD Card through ADMA in Windows 7 May Cause Data Loss

The ADMA (Advanced Direct Memory Access) is a controller to manage the communication between your computer and SD (Secure Digital) card. This mechanism enables you to transfer data quickly and easily. However, in some situations, using this configuration may damage your memory card and lead to critical data loss situations. In such circumstances, you need to go for SD Card Recovery solutions to get your valuable data back.

Consider the following scenario:

You have a SD card, which is formatted using NTFS file system. You use ADMA for transferring data between your memory card and the computer, which is running Microsoft Windows 7. However, while transferring data through this method, the logical structure of the memory card and data on the card may get damaged. Furthermore, unexpected issues may also occur when you attempt to use the damaged memory card or data.

Grounds of the problem

During the advanced direct memory access transfer process, the Sdbus.sys (Secure Digital Bus Driver) converts DMA meta data structure of the Windows 7 operating system to ADMA meta data structure of SD card. The ADMA and the DMA meta data structures are also called descriptor tables. The descriptor table holds a buffer address and a data length value.

The maximum size of data length field is 64 KB (Kilobyte) and its value is 16-bit. However, when the data conversion procedure goes on, the Sdbus.sys drive doesn't check the size of buffer in descriptor table of your Windows 7 system. Thus, the Secure Digital Bus Driver can set a wrong data length in SD descriptor table. For instance, the Sdbus.sys drive can set data length greater than 0xFFFF. In this scenario, the Input/Output errors may also occur. This entire behavior leads to severe data loss situations.

Solution

In order to prevent such situations and need of SD Card Recovery, Microsoft provided an update to fix memory card corruption issues in Windows 7. But if your data is lost already, you need to restore it from most recent back.

In case if the back is not updated or not available at all, SD Card Recovery Software are required. The applications methodically scan entire SD card using high-end scanning algorithms and extract all lost photos, songs, and videos.

The SD card file recovery applications have self-descriptive user interface to provide ease of use. With read-only and non-destructive conduct, these applications are completely safe to use.

Stellar Phoenix Photo Recovery (Windows) is a comprehensive application to ensure successful recovery of all lost photos. The software works well with Microsoft Windows 7, Vista, XP, 2000, and NT. It supports all major cameras such as Nikon, Canon, Kodak, Sony, Fuji, and Olympus.

Resolving “This card cannot be used” Error in Memory Card

Pictures are the best way to store memories in the form of files and digital camera is the best way to take high-quality pictures. Last week I went on a tour with my family to see royal places and purchased Nikon Coolpix S1 camera with 1 GB Scan Disk's memory card. It works fine until yesterday. Now I am not able to shoot pictures using this camera and the previously taken pictures are not accessible even. I think its a kind of photo loss and I need Memory Card Recovery solutions to extract lost pictures.

When I turn the camera on, it flashes the below error message:

"This card cannot be used."

The error message occurs even if the camera does not have any memory card. If I turn the camera on with the memory card, it looks fine. However, taking the photo results into the charge/flash light blinking for a couple of seconds. After that, it gives an error message stating:

"Warning!! This card cannot be read."

The menus are accessible only if the memory card is inserted in the camera, but I can not take any shot. The menu items are not usable. It shows black text, without any cursor to indicate the selected item. However, the items appear to work properly.

Formatting the memory card seems fine, and then I can shot pictures. But, when I press the Review button, screen becomes black and it needs to remove the battery to turn the camera off. The camera gets locked at this point.

One of my friends suggested me to check whether the card is not locked. He also asked to check if the icon comes in upper right corner when I insert the card. If the card is locked, it does not show in the camera.

However, my problem is different. The card is unreadable because its logical structure is damaged. In such situations, I have to use an advanced Memory Card Recovery Software that can recover all lost files from my memory card.

I search on the Internet to find out a powerful application and come across Stellar Phoenix Photo Recovery (Windows) software. The software recovered all my lost pictures, songs, and videos in an easy way.

This Memory Card Data Recovery application uses powerful and efficient scanning techniques to thoroughly scan whole storage media and extract all lost data from it. The software has simple graphical user interface and thus do not demand sound and prior technical skills to retrieve lost data. With read-only and non destructive conduct, the tools perform safe Digital Memory Card Recovery.
